Take a chill pill..!

Firstly an apology for not blogging in ages, Just been having one of them things (life!) getting on top of me moments..

Recently I've being feeling full of anxiety over thinking everything and fearing too much change at once, I'm telling you when you let your thoughts run wild it isn't good for the soul, I almost feel as if I've nearly lost my usual overly positive part of me and I'm trying my damn hardest to get her back :-) but hey you have to climb the highest mountains to reach the peak..!

When your stressed out its usually because your either
1) Over thinking things (irrelevant things at that..!
2) Taking too much things on
3) Not giving yourself a minute

Well I'm guilty as charged on them anyway, first step today as I'm writing this is make a change :-)

The to-do list grows, the money tree is non exsistant and the guilt riddles for not seeing such a person in (X) amount of time...

But do you know what...So what..Stressing about it all with get you nowhere..! As My Mother always tells me 'Your health is your wealth' and she's right too, that to-do list is never going to get done with its all star team player out of the game (you!)

Life is one big balancing act, just make sure you have some me time..and don't use my old excuse you don't have time for you...make it..!

Whatever the problem or challenge is, You will get through it, We all seem to put so much pressure on Ourselves to be this amazing person, weather it be a successful career, that weight loss goal, or stressing yourself out to pay off bills...It will happen for you..!
Hard work eventually pays off and of course the juice is sweeter when you squeeze it yourself :-)

So Here's my top three better than prescribed chill pills...

1) Listen to music..stick your fav tunes on sing at the top of your voice, weather it be going for a long walk or a nice drive to the coast it will make you much more relaxed and clear the head..!

2) Grab your friends/family/partner and waffle the ears off them, I know I've some great people around me (you know who you are :-* ) sometimes you need someone to just simplify things for you, I'm a true believer in a problem shared is a problem halved..!

3) Make a plan, allocate yourself some me-time weather it be one night a week or an hour out at lunch, time is precious keep some for yourself..!

Again thank you to all who like and support the page, I have met some lovely people so far and look forward to meeting more :-)

The Beauty Basics

I am a true believer in beauty is from the inside out, and happiness shines through.
But We all need a helping hand in Our hectic lives, When it comes to Our hair and skin that we abuse 24/7
there is nothing like a bouncy blow dry or a deep exfoliation to lift the spirits, If you look good you feel great...!!! And with Summer on Our doorstep (just about if you live in Ireland!) it means more skin on show, longer days and later night so of course You want to look your best :)

Debs Rules Of Beauty

1) Know when to splurge and when to save, Ask yourself What good is it having an expensive foundation if your not taking care of that skin your trying to cover! Can not stress enough how important using good skincare brands is..!!

2) Take a high quality multi-vitamin everyday, drink at least 8 glasses of water and exercise.. good for the mind, body and soul (it shines through!) you could buy a whole MAC store it still won't cover up your sins..!

3) Don't smoke, dulls the skin along with all the health risk..!

4) Always use a factor, Sun damage is not sexy..!

5) Get your fair share of beauty sleep

6) LESS IS MORE, make-up, tan, hair styling just don't over do it, work with your natural beauty don't hide
   it..!

7) Laugh.Relax.Enjoy life

8) Eyebrows really frame the face, skinny brows are a big no no..!

9) Get your hair trimmed on a regular basis to keep your locks healthy..!

10) Make time for yourself, weather its twenty mins to paint your nails or a spa day, you need to look after yourself, take a break, no excuses you deserve it..!!!

How do I improve my skin..??

Always cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize and use an SPF
With regards to skincare products, you have two options:

1) Spend the money on decent creams (avoid cosmetic brands, full of perfumes ect.)
2) Go the natural route and make at home lotions and potions DIY masks ect.

My personal favorite is Dermalogica,  products cost more than supermarket brands but has always worked for me, and being the World's number one skincare brand, it's well worth a try, no matter what your skin type..! Covers all skin concern..!
www.dermalogica.ie

I LOVE Dermalogica's Daily microfoliant, cannot stress how much exfoliation is a necessity and this product is great for Sensitive skin, Break out prone skin and well basically all skin types..!!

Skin no no's

Never pick at breakouts, as tempting as it is, when you pick, You can spread the contents deep into the oil gland which in turn causes infection and spreads breakouts

Make-up remover wipes strip the skins natural protective layer, only use when you really need to (after a night out on the tiles!!)

Avoid cheap brands, especially for your face as a wise Woman once told me 'buy cheap, pay twice'

Natural Remedies

For breakouts tea tree oil is AMAZING available at most health shops, Be careful as it can dry your skin so always apply directly to spot with a cotton bud..!!

For Dehydrated skin, Mix 2 drops of lavender oil with baking soda and water until it becomes a paste, Apply to face leave for 5 mins, rinse and moisturize

For Dull skin, Put aloe vera gel in the freezer for 20 mins pat it on your face for ten mins, rinse

Good enough for you xXx

Did you ever just feel your not good enough...?

Like no matter what, Your best just isn't enough and no matter how hard you try there's always someone who has something negative to say criticising, that brings you down, and you can't live up to people's expectations.

Well I have anyway, there's been many occasions were I have felt worthless and not good enough...but usually it's not you that's the problem it's the ones who judge that have a problem...not with you, but with themselves..!

When I was quite young, I learned a valuable lesson that in fact, no matter what..you are always on your own, you have to be independent and you have to love yourself in order for others to love you (sounds a bit negative, but the truth hurts!) So you really don't need to live up to anyone else's standards but your own :-)

Like We all go through little tests in life, they either make or break you.. I can honestly put my hands up where I'm at a stage in my life that I don't need anyone, I want people there, yes I'm insecure at times and an occasional needy bitch (lets be honest who isn't) but the point I'm getting to here is you should be proud of yourself, and all your accomplishments big or small, because you are deadly (yes you!) if somebody tries to tell you different welllll darling you don't need that negativity in your life...!! Usually any bad things to happen to you are blessings in disguise, they give you fire in your belly and some get up and go :-) I know that's what gives me my drive anyway..!

If you've ever been a bit depressed, you will know how important positivity is, like usually when you peel back a few layers and simplify any problem you will realise that it's easily solved. We all get down and stressed over such silly things that might not even happen.

Appreciate what you have, who your surrounded by and what you've done and I promise you will soon be smiling, for every bad thing I'm sure you can come up with at least three good..!

There is no better feeling than not giving a fuck about others opinions (excuse the French!) and being comfortable in your own skin, knowing who you are and where your going with it..!

Remember head up, shoulders back, don't slouch because you have nothing to be ashamed of..!

Again I'd like to thank anyone who reads my little thoughts on the blog xx

Label.M product review if you love hair you will love these..!!

So last Saturday was My Nephews Christening, and decided I'd treat myself to getting the wig done :-) one of my fav Salons is Toni & Guy (on Claredon st.) Now I'm not just saying this because I'm a past employee, but they really are great at what they do, would recommend them to anyone (especially for haircuts and styling)
See below a pic of my hair done by the amazing gorgeous Leanne (thanks sooo much!)

On my visit to Toni and Guy I picked up two of there label.m products:
Resurrection dust (volume lovers will love this!)
Radiance oil (Moroccan argan oil to condition my over styled mane)

The resurrection dust comes in a small pot, This might sound weird, but it's fascinating to look at the dust if you give the pot a shake - it is so fine that a small shake puffs the powder up and then it gradually deflates as the weight of the powder pushes the air out. I know, this sounds a bit odd - but it actually helps demonstrate how clever the powder is. It is so fine that it almost weighs the same as air - a good thing when you are on a mission to create volume..!

So, how does it work? (and more importantly DOES it work?) To use this powder - you simply shake the pot to dispense a tiny tiny amount to the roots. Then, scrunch the roots up with your fingers to get the hair plumped up, this dust creates texture at the root which is vital for all fab big hair creations...see below some pics on how to create the perfect back combing...!!! If ya do it right the first time there's no need to murder your poor hair with a comb in the nightclub toilets :-)

Next up is the Label.m radiance oil, even the name I love...just what I need some radiance, you can use this oil before blow drying to condition hair and speed up drying time or afterwards to reduce frizz and give hair shine..!
Have to say after a week of using it my hair looks (and feels) softer and even has a shine (which is quite impossible when you have highlighted hair)
I use a tiny amount (20cent coin size) before blowdrying and work into the hair mid lengths to ends, for any thick haired ladies this will save you drying time, out of all the hair oils I have tried from loreal to Moroccan this one is top of my list, it smells fab and doesn't leave any residue in my hair.

How To get loose curls/waves

I have had lots of mails asking me how I do my hair..With a couple of years hairdressing experience with Toni&Guy under My belt I will most definitely be passing on any hair knowledge I have over time through the blog :-) Now I apologise in advance for the not so amazing pics, I done this first thing in the morning with a mirror and a camera phone (that's dedication!)

Sorry about the wait Girls...
Here's my QUICK rough step by step guide on how to create a waved look...
Don't worry big haired lovers I have a fab blog coming up on back-combing too :-)

Firstly
You will need
1) A medium sized styling wand
2) hairspray
3) Hair grip

Step
1) Make sure hair is bone dry, section hair (I usually just section off into halves on either side)

2) take a section of hair, about an inch wide and wrap around wand, hold for 25-20seconds

3) repeat on each section making sure the top of wand is ALWAYS pointing in a downward direction when swapping sides (most people make the mistake of pointing wand up!)

4) Tip head over, giving the hair a good shake with your hands, add a little hairspray (would recommend label.M hairspray great hold) and voile hello beach babe waves :-)

Hope this quick guide helped, practice makes perfect...!!

Step aside dickhead..I'm every Woman it's all in meeeee

Are We crazy to have such high expectations in Our love lives...??

Thank You Disney..!

Who is this Prince Charming anyway..like a fairy tale un realistic and non existent

Before I go on, this isn't a man-hating rant more of an empowering Women speech :-)

But I will start off saying...
It's a man's world out there, they're the ones who stroll around carefree, the ones who seem to be in control of relationships, and as some may know, Meet a bad one and he can get inside your head and break your confidence with a matter of words...now of course I'm not tarring everyone with the same brush, like all things, there are exceptions to the rule.

But why do they do this you ask..? You let it happen, yes you..!!

A wise woman once told me, 'People treat you the way you let them treat you, and if they bother you its because your giving them the permission to do so' and do you know what it's sooooo true..!

A man treats you bad, your letting him...He uses you, yup you guessed it your letting him..!!

You are in control of most things in your life, don't settle for anything but the best, have standards and live up to them, have respect for yourself and excuse the language, take no shit..!!

Remember there may not be such thing as Prince Charming (imagine he would be so boring anyway) but I'm damn sure there's a man out there somewhere for you that will treat you the way you deserve to be treated...and it will happen when it's meant to happen, but until then look out for yourself and your happiness , Us Women are amazing so don't settle for any less Ladies :-)

P.s For any men having a sneaky read of this, if you have a good girl treat her like one, because it's only a matter of time before someone steps in and does

Thanks everyone for the read, if you look at my posts they are a bit all over the place, punctuation is never perfect and I rant, but Hey I'm real..!
(Can't help but listen to Whitney Houston's I'm Every Woman after writing this)

A self confessed tanorexics dream

A self confessed tan junkie (it improves my mental well being honestly!) Im all about trying out new tans,

3 things that are really important to me with false tan products..

1) Colour...I like to be more bronzed goddess style not an orange Orang-utan

2) Smell... Lets be honest nobody likes to smell like a curry shop

3) Wear off...clumpy tan/scaly skin is soooo unattractive..!

So I tried out decadence tan and definite gold stars all round from me..

1) Fab sun kissed holiday glow, a lot of my clients complimented my tan and were asking what I was using (always a good sign!)

2) My tan loathing boyfriend told me I no longer smelled of Indian Cuisine :-)

3) I exfoliated prior to application, spritzed a small amount to start off (can always do second application the next day) and my top tip moisturise moisturise moisturise, wore off really well and quite naturally just faded

So think I find a new love and would recommend it to anyone, It's the first organic tan I've ever loved..!!
