How to dress for your shape

What body shape are you?

1) IF YOU HAVE......

Shoulders and hips that are about the same width apart

Medium to large bust

Smaller waist

Curvy hips and bum, but slim thighs

YOU HAVE A ...... HOURGLASS FIGURE

Do's
  • V-necks, scoop necks, sweetheart necklines (minimise larger busts)
  • Define your waist (fitted clothes, Waist belts)
  • Blazers are a MUST to balance out your big chest and nip you in at the waist
  • Show off your curves with pencil skirts and fitted dresses (SPANX and a good bra, support them curves!!)
Don't
  • Don’t wear baggy clothes (you will look like a tent!)
  • Don’t wear high necklines or smock dresses (add bulk where you don't need it)
  • Don't wear flat mannish shoes (Darling, trust me they won't do you any favours)

My Hourglass Wardrobe Staple..

Pencil Skirt, Embrace your curves, River Island (link below)

2) IF YOU HAVE.....

Small to average bust

Neat waist

Shoulders are narrower than hips and thighs (may have to buy a size larger on the bottom half)

Carry your weight down on your thighs and have a rounded bum

YOU HAVE A......PEAR SHAPE FIGURE

DOs:
  • Wear platforms to lengthen your legs.
  • Do wear a-line skirts with fitted tops.
  • Define your upper body and waist with fitted tops and belts
  • Do look for slashed necklines and halter-neck styles as they will broaden your narrow shoulders.
DON’Ts:
  • Don’t wear super fitted clothes on your bottom half – this will exaggerate your hips and thighs
  • Don’t wear anything on your bottom half that has side pockets as they add width.
  • Don’t wear prints on your bottom half  (will draw attention to the wrong places)
  • Don’t wear shoes with ankle straps – this will cut off your legs and make you look shorter than you are

My Pear Wardrobe staple

Embellished cami tops (draw attention to your top half)  TOPSHOP (link below)

3) IF YOU HAVE.....
Shoulders, waist and hips approx same width
Not much of a defined waist
Average to small bust
Long, lean limbs

YOU HAVE A....RECTANGLE FIGURE

DO’s:
  • Wear belted and fitted styles to give the illusion of a defined waist
  •        go for wrap dresses that tie under the bust line. They are perfect for creating a feminine shape and              definition.
  • Wear straight leg jeans and slim-fitting skirts to show off your lean hips and thighs
  • Create curves with draping, asymmetric shapes and flouncy hemlines.
DON’Ts:
  • Don’t be scared to wear shapely, waisted clothes to give yourself more of an hourglass shape
  • Don’t wear anything cropped – it will make you look short in the torso
  • Don't go for anything masculine, boxy or formless.

Peplum Dress (create curves) Asos (link below)

IF YOU HAVE....
Broader back and upper body
Medium to large bust
No defined waist and a slight tummy
Slim hips and thighs with slender legs and ankles

YOU HAVE AN..APPLE FIGURE

DO’s:
  • V-necks, scoop necks and sweetheart necklines are best for your shape.
  • look for wide waistbands, They will give you support and a wider leg will keep you in proportion.
  • Go for side fastenings, flat front trousers and skirts to avoid bulk around your tummy.
  • Wear fitted jeans and skirts to show off slender hips and thighs
  • Belt dresses (around the waist)
  • Use necklaces and scarves, or open necklines (cardigans and jackets) to create a vertical shape down your body (this distracts from your tummy and bust)
DON’Ts:
  • Don't go for anything that is pleated at the waist as it will add bulk to the tummy. Instead look for styles that have a flat wide waistband and then pleat from under your tummy
  • Don’t wear over-sized and super loose-fitting clothes, this will make you look bigger than you are.
  • don't wear shoulder pads! You do not need help with this area
  • Stay away from jeans with darker washes. These will only make your hips appear smaller

Remember Girls,
You can be a mixture of two shapes as We are all different,
These are just guidelines break the rules a little to what you feel comfortable in..! Ditch the black and go for some colour it isn't always the 'safe option' it can sometimes make you look dreary, Go for a colour that suits your colouring..!!
And one last thing never have that 'I'm too old to wear that attitude', You don't have to wear trends off the catwalk but introduce them into your look with variations that suit you and accessories ect.
Hope this helps any questions just mail me lovebydebs@gmail.com

Easy step by step contouring

So the whole worlds gone all kimmy K contouring crazy....

I had to give it a bash, not being a make-up artist myself I made a few mistakes and my works not perfection but Hey, If I can do a half decent job at it at home so can you...!!

My number one top tip with make up is brushes....that's how make up artists create that perfect look, Their tools and blend blend blend...!!

So here's what I used....Some of my favourites..

1) Dermalogica skin perfect primer
2) Dior forever foundation
3) Inglot bronzed pressed powder(no.31)
4) Benefit 'high beam' Highlighter
5) Inglot blush (no.27)
6) Soap&glory translucent powder (to set)

1) On cleansed, Moisturised skin apply      Primer to face.

2) Apply Foundation, Blending in well..when contouring use a smaller amount of foundation than you normally would (You don't want to look too caked with make-up)

3) Use highlighter under eye area and cheek area (As shown in pics below)

4) Using a contouring brush and your bronzing powder brush a line from you ear to under your cheekbone (As shown in pic below)

5) Using a blending brush, lightly buff product until the lines blend

6) Lightly dust translucent powder over face to set

7) Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks

8) Next up is the eyes, Shadow, liner and mascara

9) Don't forget filling in your brows with powder (Love the HD palette) to really set the look, Voile

10) You have your finished look, Now don't worry if it doesn't work out the first time practice makes perfect :-)
Here's an example of my finished look

Hope this helps Guys :-)

5 Ways to boost your confidence NOW

We all have are little down days now and again, So here's five easy ways to give yourself an instant pick me up...

1) Embrace your positive qualities...

Weather it's a body part or a talent name one thing You love about yourself and concentrate on it..!

Weather it's completing a task or confronting someone, Avoidance creates negative feelings, It's best to deal with the issue and move on with a smile..!

5) Go do something for you..!
Change your look, A new shade of lipstick or a colourful top, Even something as simple as giving a family member/friend a call can change your whole humour

The champagne lifestyle on lemonade money club

Why are We so judgemental of others...?

As humans no matter what way you want to sugar coat it,
We all judge a book by its cover
Peoples appearance, Brands they wear (don't lie) Where they are from, What they do for a living and of course their accent (Take Note: Saying Riiiiish instead of right does not bump you up to the top of the class pyramid, you sound like a wannabe go get elocution lessons please!)

That's why (personally I think) everyone tries so hard nowadays, To almost out-do one another, show off on the likes of facebook etc. how AMAZING their lives are, how much they love their PERFECT other half and naming what designer brands they have as if there going out of fashion.
I always get suspicious of people like this...are they actually that un-happy with their lives that they have to fake everything...? Really....?

Champagne lifestyles on lemonade money...... TOWIE springs to mind! We all know it's not real..!

Since when did fake come into fashion and being yourself become such a turn off....
Being somebody your not requires too much effort thats why I'm sooooooo happy to be out of my teens (even though some never leave them) just be comfortable in my own skin...

A random thought popped into my head the other day while I was driving,
Why can't life be like a road and people like cars...?

On the road, We all just drive together all cars of all different colours, shapes and sizes
It doesn't matter what colour they are, What they work like or in fact what journey they're on, They go at their own pace and arrive at their own different destinations after a peaceful journey.

We are all on the same journey, different destinations and stages, So why not work together, Be happy for people, encourage one another and concentrate on your own journey

So what I'm trying to get at is... Don't bother being in competition with anyone else because.. You'll lose

We were all born different, a different mix, each to their own
What a waste of a life it is to try make yourself something that your not
Embrace yourself, You are truly one of a kind,
I learnt at a young age to fuck what everyone else thinks of you, there is always going to be people who don't like you for no reason, someone who spreads a few rumours and a few friends along the way who backstab,
Excuse the french, But i'm going to be blunt here.. fuck them, if your living your life happily and doing no wrong by others, What's the problem..?

A tiger doesn't lose sleep over the opinion of a sheep
So darling let me tell you, Keep doing what your doing be happy and let the useless sheep stay together bitching in their flock, While you do what tigers do best and let out a big Rawr (Haha I'm actually cringing)

If you can't afford champagne, Be yourself, Go get a glass of your well earned lemonade and drink it with a smile on your face, Making the most of what YOU have and make decisions for you, that make YOU happy

Your going to meet some not so nice people on your journey, Remember misery loves company, It's your choice if you want to feed into them or do your own thing ...

Whats the point in being alive if your not living the way you want...?
It's your party so you decide what guests you invite....

Help my hair is as dry as straw!!!!

Here's a quick and easy natural hair treatment rich in vitamin E and protein for over processed locks :-)

You will need:
1/2 Avocado
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 egg
Towel head turban

Mash the avocado and mix in the egg and olive oil,
Spread throughout the hair (don't forget the ends!)

Cover with shower cap

Boil a kettle and soak the towel turban in hot water, wring out and wrap around head (heat will intensify treatment by opening the hair cuticle and letting mask penetrate deeper)

Leave on for 20 mins, rinse with cool water and shampoo as normal

Hello lovely locks :-)
